Crawl Space Contractor Quote Comparison
Crawl space quotes rarely list the same things in the same way. Enter the details from two or three estimates and this tool lines them up, works out the price per square foot, and flags anything a quote leaves out so you know what to ask.
Side-by-side comparison
Highlightedcells are missing or not included. Ask the contractor to confirm them in writing.
The lowest price is not always the best value. Compare what is included, and check that each contractor is licensed and insured.
How this tool works
Each quote is checked against the main parts of a typical encapsulation scope: a liner with a stated thickness, wall coverage, sealed vents, a dehumidifier with a stated capacity, drainage where water is a problem, removal of old insulation and debris, and a written warranty. Any item left blank, marked "not stated" or "not included" is highlighted, and the tool counts the gaps for each quote. Price per square foot is the total price divided by the crawl space size you entered, so quotes for the same space can be compared fairly.
A highlighted cell does not mean a quote is bad. Some homes do not need a sump pump, and some contractors include items without listing them. It means you should ask. The tool does not judge whether a price is high or low; for typical ranges, see our North Carolina cost guideor run the cost calculator.
For a walkthrough of each line item, read how to read and compare crawl space quotes. The glossary explains liner mil thickness, and our encapsulation service pagelists what the work usually includes. Before you sign, confirm that the contractor is licensed and insured.
